On 17 November in Rome the conference “Energy transition and innovation between opportunities and obstacles”

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The conference entitled “Energy Transition and Innovation between Opportunities and Obstacles will be held in Rome, Monday, November 17th, at 17.00, at the Sala Capranichetta (Piazza di Monte Citorio, 125). PNRR – Transition plan 5.0 and PNIEC 2030”.

The event, promoted by Fondazione UniVerde and Noto Sondaggi with main partner Renexia and event partner Almaviva, will be opened by a video message of greeting and address of Minister Tommaso Foti and is configured as an opportunity to confront institutions, companies and stakeholders on the planning tools that favor the ecological transition but also on the bureaucratic and authoritative issues to overcome in order to contrast, with decision, climate change. The conference will be broadcast live streaming on Radio Radicale and in connection with the special envoy for the climate of the Italian Government to the COP30 of Belém. The meeting will also see the presentation of the data of the 23rd Report “Italians, renewables and the green & blue economy”, realized by the UniVerde Foundation and Noto Sondaggi, to deepen themes, opportunities and challenges related to energy and digital transitions, in line with the objectives of the PNRR and the Integrated National Plan for Energy and Climate (PNIEC): strategic tool, the latter, with which Italy draws the course towards the commitments set by the EU, in particular those established by the package “Fit for 55” to reduce net emissions of greenhouse gases of at least 55% by 2030.

The achievement of the targets depends on the acceleration of the ecodigital transition, with the crucial role of the offshore wind floating in competing not only to the decarbonization of Italy but also to the creation of areas of natural repopulation for different species of marine flora and fauna. The project of the floating wind farm Med Wind of Renexia that protects the seabeds and eliminates the landscape impact, for example, in addition to guarantee an annual production of clean energy estimated in 9 TWh, sufficient to meet the energy requirements of approximately 3.4 million families and to reduce the emissions of CO2 of approximately 2.7 million tons per year, could also become an area of fish repopulation thanks to the same structures of the park.

For an energy system not only green and blue, but also safer and more efficient, based on technological drive and integration between renewable sources and digital innovation, the new Transition Plan 5.0 is to be remembered that it intends to give a synergistic momentum to the two transitions, energy and digital, for a true ecodigital transition. The primary objective of the latter programming tool is to raise the level of efficiency and sustainability of Italian companies, as well as to boost advanced digitization, even with the increasingly significant and safe application of artificial intelligence. Strategic is the role of Almaviva, leader in Information & Communication Technology services and protagonist of the country’s digital transformation.

The opening of the conference will be entrusted to the video message of greeting and address of Tommaso Foti (Ministro for European Affairs, the PNRR and the Policies of Cohesion). To follow, the presentation of the 23rd Report “Italians, renewables and green & blue economy” will be held by Antonio Noto (Director of Noto Sondaggi). It will continue with the panel “Transition of energy between opportunities and obstacles” with the interventions of: Alfonso Pecoraro Scanio (President of the UniVerde Foundation); Claudio Barbaro (State Secretary for the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security); Francesco Corvaro (Special Envoy for the Climate of the Italian Government at COP30 in Belém); Stefano Patuanelli (Capogroup M5S and Component of the Budget Commission, Senate of the Republic); Chiara Braga (PD Group Leader and Commission Component Environment, Territory and Public Works, Chamber of Deputies); Gianluca Loffredo (Sub Extraordinary Commissioner for Government); Riccardo Toto (Director General of Renexia); Fulvio Conti (Market Director Water, Agricolture, Environment & Space of Almaviva). Modera: Gianni Todini (Director of Askanews). Media partners of the event: Askanews, Italpress, Opera2030, TeleAmbiente.
