60 years of Italian record and passion in the new chronograph Abarth 1000

TORINO (ITALPRESS) – Presented a new creation fruit of the tenth collaboration between Abarth and Breil, the famous Italian brand of watchmaking and jewellery born in 1935 in Milan. This is the Breil Abarth 1000 timepiece, which pays tribute to one of the most iconic moments in the history of the Scorpio brand: the 100th world record personally won by Carlo Abarth at the Monza Circuit on 20 October 1965.

Built in a limited and numbered edition of 465 pieces, the exclusive watch renews the link between two Italian brands, made of audacity, performance and passion for mechanics, as well as embodying the pioneering spirit of that legendary challenge, merging mechanical design and sport tension in a chronograph with unmistakable character. And for those who want to admire the extraordinary Abarth 1000 single-seater of 1965, we remember that a specimen is preserved in the Heritage HUB in Turin, next to the Abarth 750 Bertone of ’56 and the Fiat-Abarth 1000 single-seater Pininfarina record of ’60. In this wonderful exhibition space of Stellantis dedicated to the Italian brands of the Group, the three single-seaters are exhibited in the area “Records and races” along with other rarities that have triumphed in the main circuits of the world.

Moreover, Carlo Abarth has consolidated his reputation as a brilliant computer of cars and eclectic entrepreneurs also through the many records broken by his “creatures”. Almost always the scene of these performances was the Monza track, which, still having the high speed ring, was perfect for long walks at very high pace. Among the protagonists of these enterprises, a role of great importance is the Abarth 1000 single-seater of 1965, with which the founder conquered the 100th world record, an enterprise that consecrated it as an absolute symbol of determination, precision and speed, values that today return to pulsing in the new Breil Abarth 1000.
