NAPOLI (ITALPRESS) – Naples is preparing to become the protagonist of the growth of the Mezzogiorno, hosting in 2027 the 38th America’s Cup. For this reason, Class Editori and Milano Finanza have decided to dedicate to the international event a special edition of Motore Italia, the roadshow dedicated to the story of the most virtuous Italian companies. The event – scheduled from 15 of Friday 14 at the University of Naples Federico II and moderated by Roberto Sommella, director of Milan Finance, and by the journalist of Class Cnbc, Silvia Sgaravatti – will open with the greetings of the mayor Gaetano Manfredi and the rector Matteo Lorito, together with the vice-president of Manageritalia Simone Pizzoglio. Among the institutional protagonists, the participations of Andrea Abodi, Minister for Sport and Youth, present in the classroom, and Daniela Santanchè, Minister of Tourism, connected in video, that will bring the vision of the Government on the economic and social value of the great sporting events. Together with them, Fulvio Bonavitacola, vice president of the Campania Region, Marco Mezzaroma, president of Sport and Health, and video messages by Luciano Buonfiglio, president of the Coni, and Giovanni Malagò, president of the Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026.
The summit will explore how the America Cup can turn into a growth laboratory for the city and the country, creating opportunities in the fields of nautical, tourism and sustainable innovation. Thematic panel will be dedicated to the energy and infrastructure transition – with interventions by Msc Crociere, Gesac and Tangenziale of Naples – and to the wave of investments involving Cdp, Sace and Simest, called to support the development of the blue economy. It is also open to the themes of work, skills and social sustainability, with the participation of representatives of Andersen Italy, Manageritalia Campania, Abc Napoli, Pasta Cuomo and CO.NA.TE.CO. In closing, a focus dedicated to sport and the sea, with the contribution of Aurelio De Laurentiis, president of Naples, and of the representatives of the most important sailing circles of the city, like Fabrizio Cattaneo della Volta, president of the Royal Yacht Club Canottieri Savoia, and Roberto Mottola di Amato, president of the Circolo del Remo and Vela Italia. The initiative is part of the widest route of Motore Italia, the format of Class Editori that has been telling the companies that run the country for years, and anticipates the strategic role that the America’s Cup will have for the economic and tourist relaunch of the Mezzogiorno, as well as, for the city of Naples, the opportunity for the important requalification of the area of Bagnoli.
