LECCE (ITALPRESS) – The Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Lecce, at the end of an articulated and prolonged investigative activity coordinated by the Anti-Mafia District Direction, have carried out a vast anti-Mafia operation that led to the arrest of 22 people – 18 translated into prison and 4 subjected to house arrest – on a total of 55 inquiries, as well as to the seizure of 800.000 euros. The precautionary measure, consisting of 23 measures (one of which is not carried out since the recipient is deceased), was issued by the GIP of the Court of Lecce. Investigates respond, in a variety of ways, to the crimes of association of mafia type, association aimed at the traffic of narcotic substances, detention for the purposes of dealing, robbery, aggravated injuries, wear, extortion, fence, detention and illegal port of weapons and explosives and procured in observance of punishment, all aggravated by the mafia method. The in-depth investigation has also allowed women to play roles permanently in drug dealing circuits.
