GENOVA (ITALPRESS) – Damage and fear due to the bad weather in Genoa today, while the city awaits the orange alert issued by Arpal starting from Sunday noon. Since the first hours of the day the nubifragi, associated with a stationary temporal, have hit in particular the Ponente citizen and Valpolcevera, causing widespread flooding and a landslide on the Aurelia between Genoa and Arenzano, resolved after five hours.
In the early afternoon the Fegino rio is exonerated in the homonymous district already hit several times by floods in the past. To Pegli a mural has collapsed in Via Nicoloso da Recco, overwhelming the cars in stop: the debris invaded the entire road. The gas pipes were handed down and hundreds of families remained without supply. Municipal civil protection has been activated to provide water and food in case of need. In the early afternoon a marine trumpet fell into the area between Voltri and Sestri Ponente causing numerous criticalities: dozens of fallen trees, a truck tipped to Pegli, destroyed stained glass, uncovered roofs, container raised from the port of Pra’.
Tomorrow a new disturbance is expected with possible strong rainfall and accumulated high on a territory already put to a tough test. The municipality sent the citizens not to move if not in case of real necessity. Precautionaryly, cemeteries, parks, gardens and pedestrian underpasses were closed.
FALSO ALLARME PER TRE DISPERSI
False alarm in the afternoon for three young hikers considered missing in the area of Piani di Praglia, in the hinterland of Genoa hit today by bad weather. The boys had adventured on the mountains in the late morning, then they had no news, so the alarm was triggered. In the late afternoon, firefighters started research. In the evening, then, the boys returned home autonomously and in good health conditions: they only had the unloaded cell phone.
