Tim plant 400 new trees in Rome to improve the urban environment

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – More than one hundred people among TIM employees, family and friends participated in the day of planting, during which, through the establishment of 400 trees, a new urban forest was created in the Consorzio Unitario Torrino Mezzocammino, district of the Capital that houses 38 hectares of public park.
With the initiative of today, TIM has already planted more than 1,400 trees in Milan, Rome and Turin: from 2022, in fact, the Group in collaboration with Rete Clima, a company that accompanies the companies in path of sustainability and decarbonization, adheres to the National Campaign Forest Italy, in partnership with Coldiretti and PEFC Italia, with the moral sponsorship of the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security and the Italian Ministry of Agriculture TIM also supports an Amazon forest protection project in Brazil that compensates for the emissions generated by its websites.
The trees planted by the Group with Rete Clima – including oaks, cork, tamerics, corbezzoli, frassini, pears and viburni – are autochthonous species, chosen to guarantee ecological balance and promote plant and animal biodiversity. The project also includes a multiannual maintenance plan to ensure the natural growth of plants and the continuity of the operation.
The initiative is part of the activities of the TIM sustainability plan, which aims, among other things, to reach NetZero in 2040 and to implement environmental regeneration and improvement of the urban environment in favor of the quality of life of citizens. The project also demonstrates the concrete commitment of TIM’s people to sustainability and the territories in which the company operates.
