Called the fire at Cop30 in Belém, in 13 treatises for smoke inhalation

BELEM (BRAZIL) (ITALPRESS) – The fire broke out in the Blue Zone of the COP30 headquarters in Belém. The firefighters and UN security officers responded quickly and the fire was turned off in about six minutes.

The area where the fire was flooded was the B, very close to the Italian Pavilion. People were evacuated safely. Thirteen people were treated on the spot for smoking inhalation. Their conditions are being monitored and adequate medical support has been provided. This is what we read in a joint note of the COP30 Presidency and the United Nations.

For precaution the Brazilian government and UNFCCC have jointly decided to temporarily close the Blue Zone while firefighters carry out a complete safety assessment, read again. Delegates are invited to wait for additional official communications once the venue has been thoroughly evaluated and deemed completely safe.
