Only a society that recognizes in every child a person with his own dignity can really be committed to the protection of his fundamental rights. Their defense depends on the possibility of building a better future. We must therefore strengthen the state’s response against these hateful crimes that affect the most vulnerable members of our community. This goal can only be achieved through a synergistic and coordinated action between institutions, law enforcement and judiciary, together with school, families and third-sector organisations.” Thus the president of the House, Lorenzo Fontana, opening the work of the conference organized by Il Phone blu on the occasion of the International Day for the protection of children against abuse and sexual exploitation.
“The collaboration between institutions and civil society actors is in fact essential to foster early emergence of abuse cases, ensure certain paths of justice and carry out constant monitoring of emerging phenomena, even in the digital sphere. Child protection is not only a legal duty, but it is the measure of our civilization,” added Fontana.
