TRIPOLI (LIBIA) (ITALPRESS) – Conjoint efforts continue to preserve and protect Libyan cultural heritage, with the Italian archaeological mission of the University of Palermo continuing its work on the field in the archaeological site “Villa del Mare (New)” in the city of Sabratha, on the west coast.
This work takes place as part of the fruitful scientific and cultural cooperation between the Department of Libyan Antiquities, represented by the Control of Antiquities of Sabratha, and the Italian mission. These work on the field includes researchers and technicians of the Control of Antiquities of Sabratha, side by side with their Italian colleagues, to exchange skills and document discoveries.
The Department of Libyan Antiquities confirms that this joint effort represents a vital support for the efforts of the Department to preserve the archaeological treasures of which the city of Sabratha is rich, which testify to the human, historical and civil depth of Libya, declared the Press Office of the Department of Antiquities in an interview with Italpress.
The Press Office underlined that the continuation of these specialized international missions reflects trust in Libyan competences, directly contributes to the protection and documentation of our archaeological heritage for future generations and strengthens Libya’s position on the world heritage map.
