Pope Leo XIV in Lebanon: “Prayer gives us the strength to hope even when the noise of the gunshots comes down”

BEIRUT (LIBANON) (ITALPRESS) – “Our prayer gives us the strength to continue to hope and work, even when the noise of the gun stops nearby.” Pope Leo XIV said this during his intervention in the shrine of Harissa, in Lebanon. The pope again praised the faith of the Lebanese people, despite the difficult current circumstances. “I think of the responsibility that we all have in this sense, especially towards young people”, he stressed, echoing the testimonies of religious and migrant workers and commending the commitment of all.

“The spirit with which we strive to live every day is love”, added the pontiff, before giving to the shrine of Harissa a Golden Rose, an ornament blessed by the Pope, destined to honor the Catholic rulers or sanctuaries.
