ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Vandali in action at the synagogue of Monteverde, in Rome where some writings appeared. The plaque dedicated to Stefano Gaj Taché, the child killed in the vile terrorist attack of 1982, was also sketched.
“The vandalization of the Monteverde synagogue is a serious act of anti-Semitism that adds to the numerous and worrying manifestations of violence and intolerance of the last weeks and the last days. This unworthy action does not only affect the Jewish Community of Rome, to which my total solidarity goes, but it lashes the feelings of harmony and coexistence of the entire national community”. The Minister of Culture declared this, Alessandro Giuli.
“I address to the Jewish community my personal closeness and the Senate of the Republic for the despicable act of anti-Semitism at the Beth Michael synagogue in the Monteverde Vecchio district of Rome. The words “Palestina libera” and “Monteverde antisionista e antifascista” and the fragmentation of the plate in memory of the little Stefano Gaj Taché, killed in 1982 in a terrorist attack at the Synagogue of Rome, are a very serious act of intolerance towards the Jewish communities and an outrage to the memory of a child of only two years. It is firm and clear, therefore, my condemnation for these shameful and unacceptable actions that unfortunately continue to repeat more and more often.” So on Facebook the President of the Senate, Ignatius Russian
