YAS MARINA (EMIRATI ARABI) (ITALPRESS) – A Yas Marina is all ready for the great season finale of the World Championship 2025 Formula 1, which in the last Grand Prix of Abu Dhabi will award the title pilots. A tight three-way struggle, as it hadn’t happened since 2010, which saw the two alphanies McLaren Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri and the defending champion Max Verstappen.
The British departs with the favors of the pronostic thanks to an advantage of 12 points towards the Dutch and 16 on the teammate. History, however, teaches us that we must never take anything for granted, especially with such a narrow gap. “This weekend I will face it as every weekend, nothing will change. We did the usual job, there is only more enthusiasm within the team. Team orders? We didn’t discuss it and I don’t think I’d ask the team. Oscar decides whether to allow it less and the same would be inverse parts,” says the current World leader, hunting for his eighth season success.
Piastri is also involved in the same topic: “We haven’t talked about team orders, I don’t know what you expect from me. That’s why I don’t have a clear answer to give – Australian thought – there were some difficult times, but there are for everyone. I can’t indicate precise weekends, even if there are some races I would like to remake,” says McLaren driver.
Verstappen, after a crazy comeback, intends to do all-in to try to conquer his fifth laurel, which would taste like epicity: “I am very proud of the season we did and how we reacted in the second part. Let’s try to have fun until the end. I didn’t plan on fighting for the title here, but now we’re there and see how it will go. When I go to the car, I give everything I have,” he assures the four times iridescent. The latter next year will be flanked in Red Bull by the young Isack Hadjar, author of an excellent season in Racing Bulls: “It’s a very important moment for my career. All the hard work done in six years is rewarded. It’s just the beginning of a new adventure, I’m excited and timing is perfect for this new era of Formula 1”, says the French.
Andrea Kimi Antonelli, who has three consecutive top 5, wants to close his first year in Formula 1 in the best possible way. “A year of ups and downs, but we went strong in the final. Many nice moments, but the whole route was amazing and really helped me grow as a driver and especially as a person. I can’t wait to finish this season well and start on 2026”, says Mercedes Italian. His teammate George Russell aims to secure second place in the World Builders: “We try to make sure. We have a great chance this weekend, we want to enjoy the last race of the season”, is the comment of the British.
In Ferrari’s house there is a very anonymous year characterized by the disappointment of the fourth place among the builders. Charles Leclerc, however, is said to be satisfied with the work done: “For this weekend I expect to return to the level that competes. 2025 was positive on the personal level, I am pleased with my work. I’m not satisfied with the results. We reacted well as team, but with few updates it was not easy. I hope that next year will be better”, says the Monegasco.
“The season was more difficult on track than I thought, but in Ferrari I found the best team spirit of my driver’s career and there is so much will to make progress – Lewis Hamilton’s statements –. Since this year, all together, we have learned a lot and hope that this experience will be precious in the next season. From next week we will be fully focused on 2026. We will give the most, working together to get to the top of the preparation for what is the most important change of rules in the history of the category”.
Friday officially starts the last Grand Prix of the year in Abu Dhabi with the first free practice session at 10:30, while the second will go on stage at 14.
