Eternal upgrades fleet with 25 new Volvo FMX equipped with crane Fassi

MILAN (ITALPRESS) – A more modern, secure and sustainable logistics in the construction distribution sector: It is with this objective that Volvo Trucks and Fassi have joined the Eternal, the largest Italian network active in the supply of building materials, in the realization of a new fleet consisting of 25 Volvo FMX 380 6×2, set with crane Fassi F155A e-dynamic. A strategic supply that goes well beyond the simple preparation: was born from a shared project of digital evolution, operational sustainability and security, aimed at further raising the standards of service of direct distribution in the yard. This tripartite partnership – between Eternal, Volvo Trucks and Fassi – demonstrates how the synergy between Italian and international excellence can generate concrete value on the field, responding punctually to the new requirements of the construction industry. With over 40,000 deliveries per year and 76 active sales outlets, Eternal has made logistics one of the strategic assets of its operating model. In a sector where proximity to the site is crucial, the choice of technological partners becomes crucial to ensure efficiency, reliability and continuity of service. The expansion strategy of Eternal is based on the acquisition of competing realities, a model that involves the integration of vehicles not always highly performing. Hence the need to renew a fleet that now has more than 100 vehicles. The purchase of 25 new trucks meets this goal, aiming to reduce consumption, emissions and operating costs. A renewal that guarantees greater efficiency even in urban areas subject to stringent environmental constraints, such as Milan. For the first time Eternal chose Volvo Trucks and its FMX 380 6×2 model, designed specifically to operate in complex contexts and on difficult terrain. Several key factors have determined Volvo’s choice: environmental sustainability – thanks to more efficient means in terms of consumption and emissions – high reliability and performance. In addition to the great attention to safety, Volvo’s battlehorse and essential element in such a delicate operating context. The Volvo Dynamic Steering, a unique steering assistance system that relieves the effort by adding stability to the guide, thus improving manoeuvrability and driving comfort. “We chose Volvo because it offers a perfect balance between safety, efficiency and reliability, essential elements for those who like us must operate with robust and performing vehicles in complex environments. Moreover, the attention to the comfort of drivers is a decisive element also in a perspective of welfare and employer branding: the welfare of drivers is a concrete lever of retention in a context in which attracting and retaining qualified personnel is increasingly complex,” explains Federico Nessi, CEO of Eternal. “We are excited to collaborate with Eternal, a leader in the distribution of building materials. Our new Volvo FMX are designed to address the most complex operational challenges while ensuring high safety, reliability and performance. This partnership is a significant step towards a more modern, efficient and sustainable logistics for the Italian construction industry,” says Giovanni Dattoli, CEO of Volvo Trucks Italia. The collaboration between Fassi and Eternal is based on a common vision made of innovation, proximity and culture of service. “Compare, understanding and a constant look at the future: It is on these grounds that our synergy is founded with the Eternal. A link that is not only born from a common business vision or an operating sector, but above all from a deep sharing of values and objectives. Our technology, which makes research and development a strategic pillar, integrates perfectly with the digital transformation path undertaken by the Eternal. It is a partnership that not only unites us today, but that we hope can strengthen and develop over time” – says Daniele Vismara, Italian Sales Manager of Fassi. Thanks to a careful collaboration since the design stage, the Fassi F155A e-dynamic cranes are perfectly consistent with the specific requirements of the construction distribution. A result made possible also thanks to the contribution of Fassi Emilia, a reality of the Fassi Group leader in the preparation and sale of cranes articulated in Emilia Romagna, which has carefully treated the supply and preparation of the 25 means destined to the Eternal fleet. “With a lifting capacity of up to 14.9 tm, an operating extension that can reach 22.5 meters with jib and an advanced remote control system, this crane guarantees an optimal balance between power, precision and reliability – explains Oscar Marchi, President of Fassi Emilia – The integration with the patented Internet of Cranes® system (IoC), which allows operators to access diagnostic services is even more complete.” “Scegliere Fassi allows us to count not only on a capillary network of workshops specialized throughout Italy for maintenance and assistance, but also to access advanced technological solutions. Precisely on this aspect in the Eternal we are developing a proprietary platform capable of dialogue with the IoC ecosystem of Fassi. Thanks to connectivity 4.0, in addition to the data collected by cranes, it will be possible to monitor each delivery in real time, obtaining strategic information to make the activities in the yard more efficient” – adds Federico Nessi. The 25 Volvo FMX will be the first to report the new company name. The renewal of the fleet is part of the largest and most recent rebranding project, which has seen the transformation of the brand from Eternedile to Eternal. The new name also speaks to the future: is more essential and consistent with the style and evolution of a company that aims to become a digital reference point for its customers. The new vehicles also feature a red and black livery, the official colors of Eternal that also recall those of Ducati Corse, of which the Modena company is sponsor in Moto GP. “We are fast in construction as Ducati is on track. If the new name dialogues with customers, partners and talents in a more dynamic way, the visual impact of the new trucks has excited the employees and has launched a clear message of professionalism,” the company says.
