MILANO (ITALPRESS) – Hyundai Motor Group has presented MobED (Mobile Eccentric Droid), its first robotic mobility platform produced in series developed by the prestigious Robotics LAB of Hyundai Motor Group, at the International Robot Exhibition 2025 (iREX 2025) in Tokyo, Japan. Originally presented as a concept robot at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2022, MobED was thoroughly perfected to become a fully autonomous robotic mobility platform, based on artificial intelligence (AI) and ready for production. Today, this extraordinary technological advance is the absolute protagonist of the Hyundai Motor Group stand at the International Robot Exhibition (iREX) 2025 (West Hall 3-4, W3-44), scheduled from 3 to 6 December. “In addition to being a mobility platform, MobED offers a new generation solution that can be adapted to different industries and everyday life. MobED will establish new standards in the global robotics market and accelerate a future in which humans and robots will coexist,” said Dong Jin Hyun, Vice President and Head of the Hyundai Motor Group Robotics LAB.MobED introduces a more revolutionary approach to the functionality of robotics, defined by three pillars: adactive mobility (hardware), intuitive autonomy (software) and endless travel (applications). MobED redefines the standards of mobile robotics thanks to its advanced eccentric mechanism, which ensures extremely precise posture control and an extraordinary ability to adapt to the ground. These technologies allow a smooth and secure movement on surfaces of all kinds, enhancing the excellence of automotive engineering of the Group. eccentric control mechanism: actively stabilizes the platform by dynamically adjusting the posture and height on irregular or inclined surfaces. seamless navigation on any terrain: adapts effortlessly to different environments, from narrow inner paths to rough outdoor terrain. Automotive level engineering: combines durability with scalability of laboratory precision to real world applications. By integrating adaptive motion technology, MobED eliminates the need to design specific robots for each environment. MobED simplifies autonomous navigation technology, offering accessibility and ease of use without requiring technical expertise. Main features include: Accessible control interface: a wide touchscreen controller and an intuitive 3D user interface/user experience make the operation available for all users. Safe navigation: AI-based sensors combine LiDAR and cameras to recognize and avoid obstacles. Reliable autonomy: Predictive navigation algorithms ensure safe and precise operations both in crowded and restricted spaces. The intuitive design of MobED is a robotic technology accessible to all users, which combines safety and ease of use. Built as a modular platform, MobED supports various use cases in all sectors, from deliveries to research, from logistics to video production. The main features are: Customizable modular design: supports universal mounting guides and APIs, allowing simple integration of accessories for various activities. Internal and external functionality: works perfectly in all environments, reducing the need for specialized robots and cutting costs. Future-proof solution: it adapts easily to changing needs with long-term reliability and robust structure. With a unique highly versatile platform, MobED opens up a virtually unlimited range of robotic applications, ensuring flexibility and scalability that largely exceed traditional robotic solutions. MobED is available in two different configurations, adapted to the different needs thanks to technologies and differentiated features: MobED Pro: With advanced autonomy, this model integrates additional sensors and features, such as LiDAR scanning and “follow-me” mode. Ideal for outdoor or commercial applications that require reliability in autonomous navigation. MobED Basic: Designed as a base for research and development, this model offers users the flexibility to create custom applications without preinstalled autonomy. With these two options, MobED offers maximum operational flexibility, allowing users to respond with agility to the changing needs of different industries and, at the same time, significantly extending the application possibilities of robotic technology.
