MILAN (ITALPRESS) – “This is one of those occasions that no one gives you any more; So take and go.” Serena’s dad had no doubt. She, 23, had some fear. In the end, he joined the call launched by Regione Lombardia. He passed the audition. Now, together with 18 other colleagues, he lives the dream of his life: make music. All this thanks to the path of perfection in the musical sector at the European Centre of Toscolano (CET) in Avigliano Umbro (Terni), founded and directed by Maestro Giulio Repetti, in art Mogol. The opportunity to study and learn free of charge with the teachers and teachers of the school of excellence is offered by Regione Lombardia through the call reserved for young artists between 18 and 36 years, open in July 2025 and realized by the Directorate-General for Culture. The aim of the call, with a total funding of 100,000 euros, is to promote the growth and professionalization of young artists in the musical landscape.
“This opportunity was reported to me by a former professor of the Conservatory,” says Alessia, 29, Brescia. “What prompted me to participate – he continues – was the desire to interweave relationships and create new links between students and teachers.” Mattia, 27 years old, from Brescia, plays guitar and participates in the regional project: “I decided to try because I felt the need to put myself in play and understand how much this road was really mine.” The story of Serena, of Sardinian origins: “I moved to Milan for music and to pursue this dream ever since I was a child. I really believe it now.”.
The second phase of the band, in September 2025, provided a live audition, at the Auditorium Testori of Palazzo Lombardia, to select 19 young artists distributed among the three categories: interpreters, authors and composers. Present in the front row, to listen to the auditions, there was also the regional Councillor for Culture, Francesca Caruso: “It was an exciting day: the boys were agitated, but they felt their great passion for music, their dreams and great desires. It was difficult to choose for the commission because they were all very good and professional.” For the winners of the call, until December, 15 days of workshops organized at the European Centre of Toscolano in Avigliano Umbro (TR). “CET is a very strong and touching human experience,” explains Veronica, 22 years old, from Vimercate (MB): “I already work as a producer for emerging artists but this experience gives you the concrete opportunity to confront and create links with other people.” Alice, 19 years old, from Milan, tells a day at the school of Mogol: “See early, lessons in the morning and in the afternoon interrupted by lunch, free time before and after dinner. The lessons are giving me so many ideas and inputs to create, the environment is extremely challenging.” An opportunity not only to study with the master Mogol and his teachers, but also to develop relationships and create artistic and musical collaborations. “With two boys we are already in tune and are collaborating”, is the story of Francis: “The beautiful thing about CET is to learn from great masters but above all to confront other artists of your age and understand how to make music in different ways.” “It’s beautiful the comparison that is there during the lessons, maybe with people who do different kinds. I really enjoyed comparing with who rapes,” adds Alice.
“It’s a project that I strongly wanted – emphasizes the Regional Councillor Caruso – because, when I first met Master Mogol, he told me about his training school with excellent teachers. I have proposed to the Culture Direction to carry out this initiative and to realize the dreams of the younger ones under the supervision of the greatest paroliere of all time”.
A project that strengthens the role of Regione Lombardia in the valorisation of talent, investing in young artists and culture as a support tool for the development of the musical sector and emerging artists. “After this course I will have a lot more awareness about the autoral part of my path. I would love to write a song for Levante and it would have been a great honor to do it for Ornella Vanoni,” Alice reveals. Francis has concrete ambitions: “My dream is to found a record label.” “I would like to work in the writing of film music and in the production of pop songs,” concludes Veronica.
