Jacobs “I felt left behind and this hurt me”

MILAN (ITALPRESS) – To hurt me more was “ basically the fact that we never managed to find a way to move forward in the same direction. There is a series of situations that were not well on one side and on the other and I felt a little left aside. This has hurt me a bit.” Thus the Olympic and speedy champion Marcell Jacobs at the margin of a meeting in Milan with students from Lombard schools after the interview with La Stampa in which he confessed “the spark turned out to me” calling in question Fidal. Just on these statements, Jacobs explained that “when you have people who motivate you, they believe in you, they try to stay close and support you in all your decisions, it is obviously easier: You know you’re supported and so many people believe in you. It’s normal that I don’t have to focus on the outside, but more on what I want. But it is not always easy to try to isolate yourself and think only about yourself without looking at what comes from the outside. I have to look for that spark, but it comes from within me, not from others,” he added.

“I have had so many difficult periods, but they are part of life and it is right that there are. I think this is one of those steps that, if you can overcome in the best way, can lead to great things, you have to find the strength to do so. I’ve got a bit of a loser, I needed to say these things, I can’t keep them in my life. What I had to do was take some weight off my shoulders,” added Jacobs.

At the moment this “is a reflexive phase: It is the most important one, in which perhaps you have less motivation than all and that you just have to try to make that snap, more than anything else to the head than to the body to do so to start again this path. I also came to a certain age and many satisfactions I brought home. When I started athleticizing my dream was to win the Olympics: once he won, for me he had crowned a dream. So I also wanted to start looking elsewhere – he explained – We opened this Academy and we want to try to be supportive to all sportsmen and not, who wants to take care of himself, of those who want to try to overcome their limits and reach so many things”. Jacobs then underlined: “I also like this part of life a little more entrepreneurial than sports. But sports is always part of me, so that’s why I’m taking a little while to decide: It is something that must be thought and must be taken with a great decision.”.
