Nissan and Sonatus together to speed up vehicle development with AI

LONDRA (INGHILTERRA) (ITALPRESS) – Nissan Technical Centre Europe and Sonatus, an innovative company in the field of vehicle software, announced a partnership aimed at speeding up the vehicle development process.

Thanks to Collector AI and Sonatus AI Technician of Sonatus, engineers of the NCE of Cranfield, in the UK, can collect and analyze vehicle board data in real time and compare them with historical ones. The IA tool uses incoming information from sensors, electronic control units (ECU) and diagnostic tools to automatically detect irregularities, potential failures and operational inefficiencies. Precious information that supports Nissan engineers in decision-making processes, which are so faster and more accurate. The tool is still being developed, but the first tests have demonstrated its efficiency in troubleshooting, reducing dependence on test vehicles and related investigation times, which go from two weeks to just two days. This new agreement also supports the Re:Nissan recovery plan, which provides for the reduction of Nissan vehicle development times and collaboration with partners to promote innovation and operational efficiency.

“Our collaboration with Sonatus is a clear demonstration of Nissan’s commitment to innovation. Thanks to the many years of experience of our engineers and IA tools, it is possible to speed up the processes of analysis and decision-making, launch products and technologies faster, ensuring high quality standards. Working together will allow us to offer our customers a better experience and to be competitive in a rapidly evolving market,” said David Moss, Senior Vice President, Research & Development, Nissan AMIEO. Artificial intelligence tools will become a key element of Nissan’s test program. In collaboration with Sonatus and other suppliers, intelligent testing programs will be adopted for future model development, including the new Nissan LEAF and JUKE.

“Our collaboration with NTCE reflects a shared commitment to a future supported by artificial intelligence. By enabling more efficient, precise and faster data collection and processing, Sonatus supports complex systems and processes. NTCE is demonstrating how forward-looking engineering can redefine vehicle development and establish a new benchmark for automotive innovation,” commented Alexandre Corjon, Senior Vice President and Technical Fellow, Sonatus. Nissan (NTCE) and Sonatus will present live demonstrations of AI-based data collection and diagnostics at CES 2026 in Las Vegas (January 6-9).
