ROMA (ITALPRESS) – SIMEST, the company of the CDP Group that supports the international growth of Italian companies, and the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), one of the oldest and most important chambers of commerce in the country, have signed today in Mumbai, within the Business Forum Italia India, a Memorandum of Understanding aimed to intensify economic collaboration between the two countries and to foster new opportunities for bilateral investment.
To sign the agreement – in the presence of the Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani and of the Minister of Commerce and Industry of India Piyush Goyal – were for SIMEST the Managing Director Regina Corradini D’Arienzo and for ICC General Manager Rajeev Singh.
The aim of the MoU is to strengthen cooperation between Italian and Indian companies, promoting joint initiatives and facilitating access to business opportunities in the two countries. In particular, the agreement includes: Promotion of the development of joint initiatives between Italian and Indian companies; Support for investments of companies in both countries, including through financial instruments made available by SIMEST; Exchange of knowledge and information, including sharing investment opportunities, mergers and acquisitions, new industrial projects and startups; Creation of a network of stable collaboration between the two business communities.
The agreement therefore aims to contribute to economic growth and strengthening trade and industrial relations between Italy and India. “The signing of the agreement with the Indian Chamber of Commerce confirms SIMEST’s clear will to support the investments of Italian companies in a key market for Made in Italy as the Indian one, supporting them with financial instruments and dedicated know-how.
“India is one of the priority countries of the Action Plan for the export of the Farnesina and SIMEST committed itself to consolidating trade relations between the two countries – said Regina Corradini D’Arienzo, SIMEST CEO –. In addition to the agreement signed today, in only 2025 we inaugurated our office in Delhi and activated an ad hoc measure to promote Italian investments in the country. The understanding lies in the wider action of the Italian system led by Farnesina with CDP, SIMEST, ICE and SACE – to promote the international expansion of our production fabric and to expand the opportunities for economic collaboration in the countries with higher added value for Made in Italy”.
