ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Lombardy is the winner of the Coni Winter Trophy 2025. The Regional Committee of the Council of President Marco Riva triumphs in Valle d’Aosta and becomes the first to realize the doublet in the same season after having also won the summer edition last September in Friuli Venezia Giulia. Second classified South Tyrol (which, at equal points, lacks success having just a second place less than rivals), third Piedmont. The latter Regional Committee remains at the head of the Golden Hound of the winter edition of the Coni Trophy, having triumphed in 2023 and 2024. A title, instead, for Trentino (2022) and, in fact, Lombardy. After a spectacular opening ceremony, the first and second day of competitions, in Piazza Arco d’Augusto (Ao) the closing ceremony of the most important multisports event in Italy reserved for athletes and athletes under 14. The young people faced with determination in the tests of five disciplines of the Italian Federation of Winter Sports (Alpine skiing, snowboarding, ski mountaineering, biathlon and cross-country skiing), four of the Italian Federation of Ice Sports (short track, figure skating, curling and ice hockey) and one of the Italian Federation Triathlon (winter triathlon) on the snow and ice of Pila, Cogne, Courmayeur, Aosta and Turin.
The Fair Play Games and TEM, the Motor Efficiency Test were also held. “We experienced incredible emotions. I have seen the spark that lights the sport, which makes people stay together,” said Jean Dondeynaz, president of the Regional Committee Valle d’Aosta del Coni. Honorary guest of the ceremony Federico Pellegrino, one of the flag holders of Italy Team at the Winter Olympic Games in Milan Cortina 2026: “It’s a good time. I feel fit and the last results prove it. It will be an honor to receive the Tricolore from the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella. Making the flag holder in Milan Cortina will be the perfect closure of the circle of my career. A tip to the young athletes of the Coni Winter Trophy? I remained a ‘common’ boy. At your age I had no luck participating in an event like this, a beautiful experience. The most beautiful thing is to confront and make friends with boys from other regions and other lands. You have to get all together in the sense of belonging that gives sports. We must feel proud to be part of the world of sport, which is an inclusive family, open to all.” Prior to the announcement of the winners, the Piedmontese Laura Armando (pattinaggio di figura) and the Valdostan Aksel Chabod (winter triathlon) received the Fair Play Award.
