ROME (ITALPRESS) – The Langhe-Monferrato Espresso and the Assisi Espresso: the fall season of Fs Treni Tutistici Italiani starts with these new connections. The season was presented at a press conference by Tommaso Tanzilli, president of FS Italian Group, Alessandro Vannini Scatoli, president FS Treni Turistici Italiani, Alberto Gatto, mayor of Alba, Enrico Melasecche Germini, councillor for Transport Umbria Region, Paola Agabiti, councillor for Tourism and Culture Umbria Region, Claudia Porchietto, undersecretary Piedmont Region Fabrizio Ghera, councillor for Transport Lazio Region.”The spirit of Treni Turistici Italiani is the spirit of this initiative, finally these two worlds are talking to each other, that of tourism and that of rail transport, and much more can be done,” Tanzilli said. “Railways have always been doing tourism but they do it in a spontaneous way in the sense that tourists get on the train to reach their destination, here we have to reverse the paradigm a bit and we have to start imagining instead that Railways have to intercept flows and go out to meet flows, especially that of slow tourism,” he added.FS TTI’s two fall trains are born with the aim of offering a new way of traveling that combines slow, sustainable, quality tourism with the beauty of train travel, aboard carriages that have been completely restyled to ensure maximum comfort to destinations with high historical, scenic, and enogastronomic value. “The summer offer is coming to an end and we are launching the fall one, the first project is the Langhe Monferrato one that will be on weekends, it is important because it will be a connection with the Alba Truffle Fair. More important still is definitely the Rome-Assisi, this connection with Umbria, which is very interesting from a cultural point of view, because it will touch important cities from a cultural point of view, Terni, Spello, Spoleto with the aim of also bringing this train to Perugia and Florence, so that it will also ensure a relocation of the Jubilee,” noted Vannini Scatoli.The Assisi Espresso will travel Saturday and Sunday from October 5 to December 1, from Roma Termini to Assisi, with stops in Terni, Spoleto, Foligno and Spello. On Saturdays, departure is scheduled at 10:05 a.m. and return at 6 p.m.; on Sundays, however, it departs at 8:30 a.m. and returns at 4:58 p.m. The Langhe-Monferrato Express, on the other hand, connects Rome with Alba, also making stops in Nizza Monferrato and Asti. Departures from Roma Termini are scheduled for October 25 and 31 at 7:57 p.m. with arrival at the destination at 10:35 a.m. The return to Rome is scheduled for October 27 and November 3 at 6:55 p.m. with arrival in the capital at 6:33 a.m.On the Assisi Espresso, travelers will be able to sit in the comfortable private lounges, while on the Langhe-Monferrato Overnight Espresso, sleeping cars are available where passengers can rest in a well-kept environment and in the utmost privacy.
