Thiago Motta confident “Juve-Napoli will be a great match”

TURIN (ITALPRESS) – “It will be a great match with strong players who will compete on the field. We will have our public with us and we will face the match with responsibility respecting the opponent.” So said Thiago Motta, Juventus coach, in the press conference ahead of the challenge against Napoli, scheduled tomorrow at 6 p.m. at Allianz Stadium. The challenge between the Bianconeri and the Azzurri is a direct clash between two of the candidates to fight to the last for first place. “Napoli is a team built to fight for the Scudetto, we want to have a good match for us and for our public,” added Motta. “We will have to work as a team when we don’t have the ball, with generosity as we have done so far. We have to be a solid block and not leave space between the lines where Kvara and others can find space or a pass to Lukaku. We will try to take the game toward the game that suits us. We will face a strong team.” A challenge within a challenge is the one between Thiago Motta and his former coach, Antonio Conte: “It was great working with him, we had had an interesting European Championship,” admitted the Italo-Brazilian coach. “We were a great team with important players but we failed to reach the goal. The relationship with Conte has always been great.” Motta then updated on the injury situation and talked about Vlahovic: “Gatti is available, only Conceicao and Milik will be missing. Dusan can improve like all of us, he is very well, he is smiling, positive and in the last match he did very well. I am happy with his work and he has to continue like this.” Finally, on systematic fouls on Kvara he stressed, “I can talk about my guys, and they don’t go for fouls, they always want to play ball. My guys never jump and they try to respect the game. In a general context, I have always defended the game. Dangerous fouls are never good, and we have solved this problem with Var. Now we are discussing to reduce time wasting. Then there is the whole issue regarding simulations….”.- Photo Ipa Agency -(ITALPRESS).
