Convention “Vision tourism”, Santanchè “We must sell a product, our beauty”

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “Vision tourism: policies, territories, competences, future. A day of discussion on the strategies and challenges of the Italian tourist system”. It is the title of the conference organized in the Koch Hall of Palazzo Madama, at the initiative of Gian Marco Centinaio, Vice President of the Senate of the Republic and Head of Tourism Department of the League, promoter of the event itself to which they took part, opening the work of the event: the Vice-President of the Council and Minister for Infrastructures and Transport, Matteo Salvini, and the Minister for Tourism, Daniela Santanchè. While the Minister of Education and Merit intervened in connection, Giuseppe Valditara.

The conference, moderated by Nicola Romanelli, founder & strategic vision chair of Travel Hashtag Advisory, has been articulated in five panels, dedicated to the main dimensions of contemporary tourism with the intervention of several actors involved: Incoming policies, attractiveness and strategies for the Italian system – Tourism outgoing and organized distribution, dynamics, markets, evolutionary models – Geopolitics and tourism, global impacts, risks and adaptation of the system. International instability, security, effects on tourist flows – Tourism seen from politics – Human capital, skills and training for Italian tourism.

“I think today’s day can be important if we share the two-three things”, discussed during the meeting, said Minister Salvini, to reflect on what “does not work, is out of time and the world and puts us out of competition.” The Vice-President and Minister addressed several issues starting from the issue ‘Safe Roads’: “In a historical moment like this it is not possible to remove only one operator of the forces of order from the streets or stations. In fact, it’s a time to increase. When you arrive, even at the airport, in Milan and Rome, you expect an external context that is consequent to the Imperial Forums and Madonnina”. Afterwards he expressed himself on the Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina. “It’s a huge teamwork, done day and night.” The games, moreover, “will be a legacy of infrastructure and sustainability also for the after. Because sometimes great events in Italy leave great problems.” He added specifying: “We tried to build a great event that leaves a great legacy.”.

“I have to make another table because for the European Union the priority is to auction the beaches or block the Euro 5 diesels”, said Minister Salvini, then speaking about the issues on which Europe, in this case Italy, is concentrating, compared to all that is happening in the world, Trump, China, Iran, Venezuela, Israel and Gaza, Russia and Ukraine, oil and Taiwan. “I hope it can change the external context, because 80% of the rules we carry in the Senate are European. If from Brussels something accelerates the potential then you can compete, otherwise it is complicated. The beauty is not always, it must be updated and accompanied”. He concluded referring to the dowry characterizes Italy.

“I am absolutely satisfied with the trend of tourism,” said Minister Santanchè. “Ours is a nation of quality. We do not need predatory tourism, because we are the most beautiful nation in the world and because we create a fracture between the resorts and the tourist”. Thus, the Minister for Tourism concluded: “We have to sell a product, our beauty,” so, “we have to question ourselves, deepen and study who tourists are.”.

“Building tailor-made training for the talents and potential of the individual student”, thus allowing “for those who are back to recover and to those who are already ahead of speed”, this is the intention that falls within the case of the tutor teacher, explained by Minister Valditara, intervened before the panel on the Human Capital, and that is placed within the theme inherent to the competences of the operators, within the scope of the professionalities to be formed for the tourist sector. This and reform 4+2 are among the various actions exposed by Valditara that aim to “form in a modern way”, because, “we decided to focus on quality rather than quantity”. Finally, the Minister of Education and Merit on tourism also spoke about the “despite attention towards the valorisation of the territory” translated from its field of intervention, in actions aimed at the “knowledge of the territories and of all that characterizes its identity”.
