Cain departed from the young, at the start a path of listening and prevention. Zangrillo: “We continue to look to the future”

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “This new initiative will bring in the territory of Cain a path of listening, prevention and educational support for students, family and educational institutions. It will be developed in the context of an analysis and evaluation of the youth context in relation to institutions, family and school. They have been years of support and projects aimed at reinforcing the territorial community: the commitment in favor of the new generations of the city has been constant, now we continue to look to the future and invest on young and very young people”, explains the Minister for Public Administration Paolo Zangrillo, at the start of the initiative promoted by the Department of Public Function and implemented with the support of the Moige, the Italian Parent Movement.

The activity is part of the implementation of the project “Actions for strengthening the administrative capacity of the Municipality of Caivano for the improvement of social well-being”. As noted by Moige, the national data of 2025 photograph an alarming situation: over 700,000 Italian boys live with mental health problems. Anxiety and depression are among the most popular: numbers show that to suffer it is 49.4% of the boys between 18 and 25 years. The picture is particularly critical for the teenage band (Report OECD – 2025).

This initiative, realized with the involvement of the Moige, is realized in the context of Caivano: a territory that in recent years has experienced strong social and educational criticalities, but that today shows signs of constant and concrete change, also thanks to the work done by the Department in the last two years.

Adds Minister Zangrillo: “This path is a further drive towards the relaunch of Cain, through the construction of an even more solid territorial network and the implementation of advanced operational tools for the welfare of new generations.”.

The activity of Moige is part of a territorial context that has already demonstrated resilience and capacity for reaction. The initiative provides for concrete actions that will consolidate and broaden the results already obtained. Through focus groups, questionnaires and qualitative interviews, the first systematic analysis of the psychological well-being conditions of adolescents in the territory will be carried out, creating a fundamental data base to guide future intervention policies.

The contents of the interventions will be agreed together with the schools involved, also in relation to the social context of reference, ensuring a participatory and calibrated approach on the real needs of the territory. Teachers and parents will receive concrete tools to recognize early signs of discomfort, manage critical situations and activate support paths, with the involvement of professional psychologists and motivational testimonials.

The initiative will also promote the creation of shared operational protocols between schools, socio-sanitary services, families and local institutions, overcoming the fragmentation of interventions and ensuring continuity in support of children. Through a dedicated competition, participating institutions will finally receive economic awards to enhance their teaching skills and implement permanent prevention laboratories.

To do as an opener will be the upper institute “F. Morano” of Caivano, which on Wednesday 14 January 2026 will host the Moige Mobile Unit and its staff of psychologists for a training day aimed at students, teachers and parents, articulated in distinct moments of listening, confrontation and motivation, marking the beginning of a path that will involve all secondary schools in the territory.

“This project is an opportunity to consolidate the relaunch already initiated in Caivano,” says Antonio Affinita, General Manager of Moige. “It is essential to build a dialogue between families, schools and institutions and to work on the welfare of children so that it is the basis for the social and economic revival of an entire community. In Caivano we want to value the change already in place and build paths of resilience and hope that turn fragility into opportunities of collective growth”.

The initiative aims to strengthen regional educational cohesion and ensure effective and continuous support for new generations at a crucial time for the future of Cain.
