ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “The Csm is an organ of self-government, it has changed in its dynamics and has even come to make criticism of the bills proposed by the government that, from a technical point of view, can be plausible since the magistrate is deputy to apply the laws, but over the years there has been a flood by the Csm that has been allowed to give addresses regarding political order. This not only does not lie in the Constitution but is exactly the opposite of what the constitutive fathers said.” Thus the Minister of Justice, Carlo Nordio, intervened at a conference on justice.
“The currents, which also had a positive significance in the beginning, have become instruments of power, which today all admit. This current system has caused a series of conditionings of the judiciary. Everyone knows that, if you are not enrolled in a current, you are certainly not conditioned on the content of decisions, but what about your professional life depends on this power game. These currents have been associated in a meaningful way from a political point of view, interfering with political life, and subjected it to limited sovereignty. This is a statement that Vassalli made in 1987 where he said that in Italy certain reforms could not be done because Italian politics is subjected to a limited sovereignty. “One thing is certain: if the confirmation of the constitutional revision passes, it is obvious that the next Csm should be composed according to the criteria of the new Constitution, but we know very well that this expectation someone holds it for himself and hopes that in one way or another it will move forward. If the yes wins in any case the new Csm must be indicated with new criteria otherwise we would make an outrage to the Constitution and to the Italians”, the minister concluded.
