Abodi “Ready for the Olympics, in San Siro I expect a universal show”

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – In two days we are serious, with the inauguration ceremony at the San Siro Stadium: the Olympic Games of Milan-Cortina 2026 are ready to open the doors. On the subject, the Minister for Sports and Young Andrea Abodi spoke during an interview with ‘Non Stop News’, Rtl 102.5.

“There is not only a commitment, but a passion and a long wait for a long-term work – says Abodi – We are all ready and at the centre of the show there will be both athletes and spectators: 2 million will be present and 2 billion will look at us from all over the world. I expect for Italy many more medals than the past, but from this year there will be medals for four decisive people for the victory of a discipline: these will be chosen by the athletes themselves according to their merits. In San Siro I expect a universal spectacle, with a language of communion and representation of the best: We will try to take stock of what we represent at the world level and hope that everyone can wait for this showcase even on television.”.

Abodi then returns to the question related to Ghali, who will sing on stage of San Siro Friday: “He will sing and say the things agreed with the organizers. This will not be the stage of any concert, but a place where everyone will respect rules.”.

Other hot themes, the search for general peacekeeping and the debate on ticket costs: “There are still those who do not understand the values of peace, respect and human life and we also see it these days with the aggressions of the Ukrainian people: I hope that the message of peace coming from the Olympics will be appreciated by all. An Olympic race costs a little more than a football match on average: I don’t understand why you’re trying to argue about prices, but we don’t follow it. It will be an opportunity for Italians and foreigners to put on the same level sports, culture, history and also music: we will try to bring them into everyday life“.

The horizon of Abodi then moves on two other episodes: “The images of the petard in Audero, as well as those of the policeman’s aggression in Turin, represent the excavation of the human race: We must continue not only in repression, but also in cultural literacy. We have too many performances, sometimes even on TV, of stereotypes in which violent behavior becomes exemplary, this is unacceptable – he concludes – We must continue with a concert of activities, starting from preventive interventions and immediate repression”.
