MODENA (ITALPRESS) – The Military Academy hosted the Council of the Bachelor of Science in Strategic Sciences of the Department of Jurisprudence of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, held in the presence of the Rector of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Professor Rita Cucchiara and the General of Division Stefano Messina, Commander of the Military Academy.
The Council approved the modification of the teaching order of the Degree Programme for the academic year 2026-2027, for the benefit of the attendants of the Military Institute. In particular, starting from the next academic year, in the framework of the same Degree course two new curricula will be introduced for the Official Students of the Various Arms: one at philosophical address and one at management address, in favor of the Official Students of the Transportation and Materials.
Professor Cucchiara, on the edge of the event, highlighted how “The collaboration between Unimore and Accademia Militare is a structural fact, built in over twenty-five years of common work, with a stable presence involving about 700 pupils and students of the Army and the Carabinieri in our paths, starting from Strategic Sciences and, more generally, in areas including medicine, engineering and jurisprudence.
For several months, since the summer, we have been asked to develop a curriculum in Strategic Sciences capable of addressing philosophical and ethical issues that today take a decisive weight. The new philosophical address, together with the management one, strengthens the quality of the formation of the Official Students and opens a useful working ground for the entire academic community: questions such as the ethics of technologies, dual use, the relationship between natural and digital knowledge demand cultural tools at height and can become an engine of didactic and interdisciplinary initiatives aimed also at civil students.”.
The new curricula further strengthen the consolidated relations of didactic and scientific-cultural collaboration, taking place for several decades, between the Military Academy and the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. The continued and fruitful cooperation between the two Institutions has enabled the organization and programming of the Bachelor of Strategic Science, afferent to the class of degrees in the defence and security sciences (L/DS), to the training needs of the Italian Army.
