RIAD (ARABIA SAUDITA) (ITALPRESS) – Acea, first Italian water operator and second in Europe with 10 million Italians served and 10 million abroad, has signed an agreement with Mowah, Saudi water and energy infrastructure company to participate in the race on revamping activities and operating management of waste water purification plants in Saudi Arabia. The agreement was signed by Pierfrancesco Latini, Chief Risk Management, Sustainability & International Officer of Acea and Faisal Al Rayes, CEO of Mowah with the aim to participate jointly in long-term projects part of the National Water Company, the Saudi state company that manages water and wastewater treatment services in the country.
Founded in 2008 and entirely owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), the NWC provides water, collects and treats waste water and manages service rates, operating according to commercial principles and international standards.

Acea expands its international presence and is already present in Latin America, with a consolidated presence in Peru, Honduras and Dominican Republic, where integrated water services serve over 10 million people. In Peru, it carries out operational management activities with system of collection, treatment and supply of drinking water in addition to the maintenance of the water and sewerage network in Lima. In the Dominican Republic the Group manages the technical-commercial aspect of the water service, while in Honduras it operates the water service in San Pedro Sula. Acea also participates in the directing booth of the Mattei Plan for the development of water infrastructure in the African continent. The Forum has seen the participation of more than 900 companies, including about 500 Italian companies and over 450 Saudi companies in the presence of Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani and Saudi Minister for Investment, Khalid Al-Falih.
Saudi Arabia is a priority country in the Italian Export Action Plan and the Business Forum is located at a historic time when the Kingdom is experiencing a profound economic transformation, led by the development program “Vision 2030”.
