Adams’ double, Torino beats Cagliari 2-0

TURIN (ITALPRESS) – After 91 days of waiting, Torino returned to winning ways in front of their home crowd, overcoming Cagliari 2-0 with merit. It is a brace by Adams that sank the Rossoblù, who were never in the game today. At the first ring, after only 6 minutes, the hosts take the lead. Ricci is served into space by Lazaro and serves backwards Adams, who turns great in the box and scores with his right, with the help of the underside of the crossbar. On the half-hour mark it took a great diving intervention by Caprile to neutralize a close-range dish from Karamoh, who entered the area too easily after an opposing defensive hole. The former Napoli goalkeeper repeated himself at 41′, when he made a diving save on a left-footed Pedersen shot freed by a filter ball from an inspired Vlasic. Vanoli’s men continued to attack and at 44′ it was Karamoh again who tried with a right-footed shot, saved again in the dive by Caprile. A first half dominated by the Grenadians ended 1-0. The music did not change in the second half and on 3′ came Lazaro’s double, later cancelled out for offside following a Var signal. On 7′, Caprile performed a miracle on a close-range finish by Tameze, well served by the usual Vlasic. On the quarter-hour mark, Tameze rooks a header from a corner and Adams hits the post in full after arriving a breath late on the ball. The Scottish striker made up for it a minute later, signing 2-0 with a close-range right-footer decisively fouled by an inadvertent deflection by Zortea. The Sardinians failed to react and, despite a pinwheel of substitutions, put Milinkovic-Savic through an evening as a non-paying spectator. The result will not change again. Thanks to these three points, Toro joins Udinese in 10th position at 26. In contrast, the Davide Nicola-coached lineup remains in 14th place with 21 points to their credit.
