ROME (ITALPRESS) – Lecce announces that it “has relieved, in dataodierna, from the post of first team coach Luca Gotti.A mister Gotti the thanks for the work done in thesetimesi with professionalism, commitment and dedication, wishing the best of luck.” This is the note from the Giallorossi club in the aftermath of the home draw against Empoli. Gotti, who took over from D’Aversa last March 13, had succeeded in leading Lecce to salvation, a feat that this year, however, immediately seemed more arduous. The Giallorossi are in fact in the midst of the relegation zone, even after last night’s advance: seven defeats, three draws and just two victories for a total of only nine points in the standings after twelve days. The most worrying statistic, however, is the one related to the scoring phase: with five goals scored, that of the Salentini is the worst attack in Serie A. A datum that more than all may have convinced the management to make a change, related to the technical guidance: now at the top of Saverio Sticchi Damiani and Pantaleo Corvino’s notebook stands out the name of Marco Giampaolo. It will clearly take some time to untie the knot inherent to the new coach, but the break in the championship for the commitments of the national teams, will allow the new coach to have a few more days to prepare the challenge scheduled for Monday, November 25, in Venice.
