Agricultural civil service, Cia and Inac: “It becomes a structural measure up to 2030”

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Make the Agricultural Civil Service stable, extending it until 2030. This is the appeal launched today, in Rome, by Cia-Agricoltori Italiani and its Patronato Inac, to the Minister of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty, Francesco Lollobrigida, on the occasion of the start of the first historical call in agriculture in the center of the Confederal event entitled “Youth, values and agriculture”.

“It needs a further effort for a project that is a bridge between generations. He does not steal arms from the earth, returns to the future,” said the presidents of Cia and Inac, Cristiano Fini and Alessandro Mastrofi, outlining the perspectives and challenges of the initiative that must be able to overcome the experimental phase in order to become structural measure with a time horizon of at least five years.

During the meeting, in fact, it was stressed that the launch of the call represents a concrete response to the prejudices that often surround the primary sector. Fini and Mastrofive have strongly denied the idea that the Agricultural Civil Service is a form of exploitation for labor.

“Italian agriculture is a multifunctional universe ranging from farm to social cooperatives to services, involving administrative, marketing, economic and political activities,” said the presidents of Cia and Inac, reaffirming the basic objective: “Let young people discover the appeal of a sector that needs innovation and freshness to remain competitive.”.

Besides, the data is clear. Under 30s are now a rarity in the industry and under 40 company owners are just 9% of the total. The percentage drops below 3% for young people who have not inherited the family business. In this scenario, the Civil Service is indispensable to the renewal of the system, but also to the bureaucratic simplification.

Finally, to give strength to the Cia and Inac request, the interest of young people: 300 applications arrived for about 70 positions available. 50 eligible young people selected – also to assist the activities of the CAA, the Cia Agricultural Assistance Centre – according to criteria of strict deontology and already active from 19 January. And, be careful, among them, only one comes from the faculty of Agraria. To confirm that the initiative attracts new and diversified profiles towards the rural world.
