Alfa Romeo consolidates its position in the Italian market in 2024

TURIN (ITALPRESS) – Despite uncertainties in the automotive sector globally, the Alfa Romeo brand celebrates a 2024 consolidation in the Italian market over 20,000 units sold and a 1.5 percent share. The absolute star is Alfa Romeo Junior, the new compact sports car that marks the brand’s return to the B-segment. Since the launch to date, nearly 5,000 orders have been registered while registrations exceed 2,300 units, enabling it to take the podium of the best-selling premium models in the segment in the second half of the year. In addition, orders for the new Q4 Hybrid version, the only one in the premium compact car category to also offer the Q4 all-wheel-drive variant, will open in early 2025. Junior’s offering expands, becoming the richest in the segment. Customers can choose between Full Electric or Hybrid engines and different versions: Junior to enjoy everyday sportiness, extreme performance with Junior Veloce, or all-wheel drive for urban use with the new Q4 Hybrid. In 2024, the performance of the premium C-SUV Tonale was also good, registering about 13,000 registrations and a market share of 4.6 percent, confirming its place on the podium of the best-selling premium cars in the segment. The Giulia also had an excellent year, gaining a share of just over 3 percent and about 1,200 cars sold, in line with what was recorded in 2023. Moreover, although lacking hybrid powertrains, Giulia is the best-selling car among premium sports sedans and third among thermal powertrains. Last but not least, at the level of sales channels, it is worth noting the good performance of long-term rental, which sees an increase in both volume (+35%) and share (+0.3 points). Finally, Alfa Romeo Stelvio continues to represent a model of great appeal in the domestic automotive scene. Indeed, in the first eleven months of 2024, the model recorded a share in the segment of 8.9 percent and about 6,600 registrations. Last year, Stelvio ranked among the top cars in the segment in the various engine types and the first among diesel-powered D-SUVs. In addition, it is among the top three most chosen models in long-term rental. “2024 was a year of great satisfaction for Alfa Romeo, in which we consolidated our position in the market and strengthened the bond with our customers. The results achieved, which are the result of our commitment and the quality of our products, demonstrate the brand’s strength and ability to anticipate market needs. We look to 2025 with great confidence, strengthened by an increasingly complete range and the support of a motivated team and a sales network that never stops striving for excellence,” says Raffaele Russo, Country Manager of Alfa Romeo Italia.
