TORINO (ITALPRESS) – Sixty years ago, at the Geneva Motor Show in 1966, Alfa Romeo presented a car destined to become an icon: the legendary “1600 Spider”, the one that fans of the world have always called “Duetto”, an unofficial name but entered the common use since the launch.
The charm of Alfa Romeo Spider does not hint at diminishing, as demonstrated by the success of the recent gathering, at the Alfa Romeo Museum of Arese, with hundreds of Alfisti coming from all over Italy – and not only – to celebrate together the sixtieth anniversary. For Alfa Romeo, his glorious past is an active and identity value, as well as a source of inspiration for the future. It is in this perspective that works “La Storia”, the area of the new project of excellence BOTTEGAFUORISERIE dedicated to the preservation, restoration and valorization of the heritage of the Italian brand: a garrison of artisan and cultural skills that guarantees the continuity between the cars that have written the history of Biscione and those that will come to the next pages.
The Alfa Romeo Museum of Arese dedicated a day of celebrations to the Spider, which took place on Sunday 19 April, with a parade of the most significant specimens and a conference on this iconic car that is still one of the most popular among the Alfisti of the world.
In the afternoon, the exhibition “Spider is Alfa Romeo”, which will allow fans to exhibit their cars inside the Museum until December 2026.
The exhibition is divided into four thematic phases, each dedicated to one of the Spider series: from April to June are the protagonists of the “sepia bone”; July and August will be dedicated to the “coda tronca”; September and October to the “aerodynamics”; until December, finally, space to the fourth series with the last restyling of 1990. An exciting program, therefore, that transforms the Museum into a lively and button place, where the official story of the Biscione is intertwined with that of the Alfisti and their cars, in a collective embrace between memory and passion.
