ROMA (ITALPRESS) – They will not give up the pleasure of a trip in advance on Christmas holidays; they will choose for most of Italy, preferring art locations and destinations characterized by natural beauties; as an ideal place for the stay will place the hotel and the tourist village first; Moreover, they will stay out for an average duration of 4.2 days: the bridge of the Immaculate confirms the advance of Christmas holidays for 13,9 million Italians, most of which (6,5 million people) will leave on 5 December, while 4,9 million will move on Saturday 6 December. This is the photograph of the Italian tourist movement on the occasion of 8 December, according to the investigation carried out by Federalberghi da Tecnè.
To win on the choice of destination, apparently, will still be the Belpaese. At the top of the preferences, the art cities with all the artistic and museum heritage that they offer for those who will be within the national borders. The average expenditure will take place on 635 euros per person producing a turnover of 8.8 billion euros. Those who go abroad, in turn, will not renounce visiting the great European and extra-European capitals. The survey also reveals a strong tendency to use this precious holiday interval to visit the Christmas markets, characteristic events, faithful to tradition, which show that they are growing on the whole national territory: they will attract 61.3% of those who will leave for the Immaculate Bridge.
“The data collected by our survey gives us a bright, seemingly reassuring scenario, especially in anticipation of Christmas holidays – comments Federalberghi’s president, Bernabò Bocca – This picture confirms a strong determination in planning a trip. You continue to choose Italy, which for us is a reason of great pride, you love to find the ideal atmosphere in the Christmas markets, you look for a cultural enrichment in the cities of art and you guarantee a stay mainly in the hotel, just in order to make the holiday as relaxing as possible. It must certainly be considered decisive on the calendar of December 2025, which brings down on Monday the feast of the Immaculate, offering greater opportunities in the travel program”.
“However – Bocca concludes – we cannot neglect the fact that, next to millions of Italians who will move, there will be a substantial part of the country forced to stay at home for the Bridge because of the increase in the cost of life. This highlights a real fragility, amplified by the increases in ordinary daily expenses that push many of our citizens to bring back the legitimate need for vacation in the scale of priorities.”.
The survey was carried out by Tecnè s.r.l. in the period between 19 and 24 November interviewing with the mixed mode system of which c.a.t.i. (59%), c.a.m.i (11%) and c.a.w.i (30%) a sample of 4.003 Italians aged. Probability sample, representative of the majority population living in Italy, stratified by region and population size class of municipalities. Control variables: age class, title of study, occupation.
