LONDRA (INGHILTERRA) (ITALPRESS) – For his first appearance in Hollywood, Alpine A290 plays a leading role in Running Man, the film produced by Paramount Pictures, premiered at the Odeon Luxe cinema in Leicester Square, London, before the official release in the theatres. The film will be screened in Italy from 13 November. Alpine A290 is in the spotlight in this thriller, taken from Stephen King’s novel published in 1982. It is Amelia Williams’ favourite car, played by Emilia Jones. Initially carefree and unaware of her privileges, Amelia changes her attitude after meeting Ben Richards, the protagonist of the film starring Glen Powell, behind her A290.
Three Alpine A290 were used by Paramount during filming in Romania and the UK. Seventeen additional elements of the body accompanied the cars, including windows, doors, front mudguards and spare optical groups. Considered the hectic pace of action scenes, all these elements were used during shooting, to capture the most beautiful sequences with A290.
With its Gray Tornado hue and futuristic details (colors, finishes and technical improvements) that accentuate the futuristic aesthetics of the film, Alpine A290 appears on the screen when Ben Richards and Amelia Williams join forces in an attempt to escape their pursuers. Several cars were needed to allow director Edgar Wright and his crew to film the scenes from a variety of angles as wide as possible and to ensure continuity of filming during the three months of work.
It is at the wheel of Alpine A290 that Amelia Williams crosses Ben Richards, a participant in “The Running Man”, the most popular and lethal reality show of the moment. Soprannominati “Runners”, the contestants must survive for thirty days while they are bracked by assassins ready to kill. Each of their moves is broadcast live to an audience initially greedy of show, which then stands on the side of the heroes. The stakes? A billion dollars. But no one’s ever survived the game. Will Ben Richards do that?
