Anci Sicilia, born the first network of listening machines for young people. Open doors in over 50 municipalities

PALERMO (ITALPRESS) – For the first time in Sicily a network of listening machines entirely dedicated to young people. An initiative promoted by the Committee Youth Policies of Anci Sicilia which aims to overturn the traditional relationship between institutions and new generations: in fact, the municipal councillors and councillors of the municipalities participating in the project will establish at least one fixed day a month to meet the boys who will make their request.

The initiative, officially launched on the occasion of the second Regional Conference on Youth Policies in Caltanissetta, was presented this morning at the headquarters of the association of Municipalities, in Palermo, in the presence of the Secretary General of Anci Sicilia, Mario Emanuele Alvano; by Simone Digrandi, Councillor for Youth Policies of the Municipality of Ragusa and coordinator of the commission; and of the Secretary Giuseppe Gallo. Also present are the councillors of the Youth Policies of various administrations: Roberta Iacono (Santa Croce Camerina), Pietro Crimi (Salemi), Carmela Daidone (Erice), Mariagrazia Pulvirenti, (Priolo Gargallo), Alessandro Galbo (Montemaggiore Belsito) and Francesca Leone (Ciminna).

This is how it will work: from next Thursday, 15 October, each municipality that has joined the project will guarantee a fixed monthly appointment, also available on reservation, in which the local administrator with delegation to the Youth Policies, together with any advisors involved and representatives of the youth consults, will confront vis-à-vis with the boys who will make it request, with the aim to collect proposals, needs or criticalities, but also, if directly feasible, to design. In the coming weeks you can find on the website of Anci Sicilia (www.anci.sicilia.it) the complete list of participating municipalities, next to the day of the month and the reception time of municipal referents.

The initiative provides for a first experimental phase, which will last six months and will take advantage of an important monitoring tool: each municipal representative in fact will load within a single regional database the requests received. A photograph that will allow the commission of Anci Sicilia to have a map of the needs of young people, in order to better guide the decisions of the individual municipalities and to define the future strategies of the policies to be subjected to the higher levels of government, starting from the Sicilian Region.

Sicily, Italy, Italy.

“Together with the council members of these first municipalities we wanted to make a clear choice: to make available to the children to listen to ideas, needs and projects – said Simone Digrandi -. The enthusiastic response of this first tranche of Municipalities shows that there is a strong desire to network and direct public policies, starting from the real priorities of the new generations.”.

Anci Sicilia finally remembers that the initiative will remain open and that any other Municipality of the island can decide to join the network at any time, contacting the association directly.

“The network of listeners is one of the most significant experiments of direct relationship between local public administration and young people. It will be an opportunity to understand their needs on a local and regional basis, in order to have concrete elements that can guide policies. Let’s go beyond the traditional structure of the news news counters thanks to our committee on youth policies, the only example in Italy that has aroused much interest”, concluded the secretary Mario Emanuele Alvano
