ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The National Agency for Evaluation of the University System and Research (ANVUR) and the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding to promote the activities of evaluation of training in Veterinary Medicine and the assurance of the quality of the courses offered by Italian universities in this area. The agreement was signed by President ANVUR, Antonio Felice Uricchio, and President EAEVE, Petra Winter. The Protocol aims to coordinate and make currency processes more efficient, even through the possibility of introducing joint visits to university offices. This approach will foster integration between the national and European regulatory framework for the development of Veterinary Education Establishments (VEEs). The agreement is part of the wider framework of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), in which both parties operate as full members of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) and as organisations registered in the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR). The initiative is a significant step in consolidating the internationalisation of ANVUR. Following the signing of the Protocol, ANVUR has held an information webinar aimed at Italian universities offering veterinary training courses. During the meeting, Alessio Ancaiani, head of the Area Evaluation of the Institutions of Higher Education, and Simone Via, head of the Internationalization Unit. The speakers explained the strategic aims of the understanding and the prospects for development of cooperation, highlighting the expected benefits for universities and for the overall quality of training courses in Veterinary Medicine.
