ROME (ITALPRESS) – The revolution represented by artificial intelligence is also knocking at the door of sports. And not only. Numerous points of interest characterized the conference held at the Confcommercio Congress Center in Rome, sponsored by ASC Attività Sportive Confederate and Confcommercio Imprese per l’Italia, entitled “Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Sustainable Development, Sport and Culture of Inclusion.” There were many guests, starting with Coni President Giovanni Malagò who, when solicited on the main implications of this new frontier of technological progress, spoke of “a revolution, also cultural, that in reference to applications in sports is already transforming medicine, coaching, training and scouting. It is undeniable that there could also be consequences at the employment level, and that is why it is essential to be ready.” Minister for Disabilities Alessandra Locatelli sent a message, stressing that “new technologies and artificial intelligence represent important challenges for the future and for the quality of life of people with disabilities and their families.” She added that “it is crucial to facilitate the accessibility, autonomy and safety of all tools, particularly to ensure social inclusion processes useful for the elaboration of the ‘Life Project, but especially in the perspective of improving and simplifying people’s lives.” Also present was Valeria Panzironi, director of Strategies, Development Projects and Shared Services at Sport and Health, who dwelt on the importance of these new tools, “which, for example, make it possible to carry out a capillary collection of biometric data, which is very useful for the training of sportsmen and women but also with a view to the prevention of all citizens, thus increasing the collective well-being and also helping to reduce the costs of the health system.” The proceedings had been opened by greetings from the president of ASC Nazionale, Luca Stevanato, and those of the presidents of Confcommercio, Carlo Sangalli, and Confcommercio Professioni, Anna Rita Fioroni, while Nicola Di Cosmo (RUFA and ISIA lecturer), Marco Visconti (ASC project manager), Davide Tavani and Giada Barzon (Skyfitness) introduced the main issues at the center of the conference. “We need to pay the utmost attention to all that is new and this great accumulation of data, which characterizes artificial intelligence, constitutes an authentic revolution,” Stevanato stressed. “The world of sports must therefore, necessarily, ask questions, evaluate perspectives and reason about the reflections that there will be in our sector as well. Fioroni noted that “there is a lot of uncertainty and even fear about the advent of artificial intelligence, but the data tell us that 62 percent of people, especially younger people, already use it and 16 percent have already attended dedicated training courses. So for professional associations, the key task will be to convey quality training.”- photo ASC Sport press office -(ITALPRESS).
