ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The ASC projects in 2025 have approached sports 30,000 people among young people from difficult, old and people with chronic pathologies. The figure emerged during the national conference of the sports promotion agency in Confcommercio and recognized by CONI, which today counts over 930.000 members.
To list the numerous initiatives of the agency, President Maria Cecilia Morandini: “Our projects show that when sport is accessible and rooted in the territories, it can improve the quality of people’s lives, strengthen communities and respond effectively to the fragility of young people and the elderly.”.
Protagonist of the conference at the headquarters of Confcommercio also the minister of Infrastructures and Transports, Matteo Salvini. “In 50 days the world will look at Italy – said the vicepremier -. There are 3.5 billion investments, but the beauty of these Olympics and Paralympics of Milan-Cortina is that all will look at them, there are almost 2,900 registered athletes”.
“For young people there will be something important, such as the Olympic Village that from the academic year 2026/2027 will be the largest student in Italy. The Olympics will leave Italy more accessible,” added Salvini.
On the other hand, the Minister for Disability, Alessandra Locatelli, said that “the work of ASC is very valuable”. The president of the Coni, Luciano Buonfiglio, was also involved in the call: “A winning athlete transmits an example of behavior, there is nothing but the desire to be protagonists without wasting time – his words –. We have to team up with a better future. We must fight because, as a president told me in Sicily, today the boys are attracted by the mob. We must be an example.”.
Immediately after him, he spoke his predecessor, today president of the Fondazione Milano Cortina, Giovanni Malagò: “If there were no major sporting events such as Olympics and Paralympics, all a series of infrastructure interventions would not go ahead, or at least the acceleration that was given is extremely positive. There are two Olympics: one begins on February 6, the other is that of the legacy, what we leave after even in cultural terms.”.
Many guests on stage, starting with the president of the Cip Marco Giunio de Sanctis: “We still have to do so much for paralympic practice, have other centers in the north, in the center and south, because many plants in Italy are inaccessible.”.
A theme, that of the infrastructure, also touched by Alessandro Onorato, Councillor for the Great Events, Sport, Tourism and Fashion of Rome: “I believe that each one of us must speed up having a more revolutionary vision, starting from schools. It is not a political theme, but to decide what we want to do. What is essential is that millions of boys and girls do sports every day.”.
