Ashimbayev “With Italy ahead with cooperation, Members invited to Kazakhstan”

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Kazakhstan is interested in working with Italy from the point of view of economic cooperation, while from the political point of view the reciprocal visits of the last period are of great importance, sealed by that to Astana of President Sergio Mattarella. These are the evaluations made by the President of the Senate of Kazakhstan, Maulen Ashimbayev, in a meeting at the Khazaka embassy in Rome. Ashimbayev was today visiting Rome and the Vatican, where he had a meeting with Pope Leo XIV and the prefect of the Dicastery for interreligious dialogue, George Jacob Koovakad.

Ashimbayev cited traditional sectors, such as energy and mining, others growing, such as manufacturing, and finally focused attention on efforts to develop new ones, with the aim of diversifying the national economy. “The priorities for Kazakhstan are now oriented towards development, especially economic,” said Ashimbayev answering the questions of those present. “We are the biggest exporters in our region, but we also want to move forward in manufacturing, mechanical engineering, agriculture. We want to attract foreign investments, we are interested in working with Italy”, he added, mentioning among others the agricultural sector. “We have projects in Kazakhstan and we want to bring technology for agriculture to Kazakhstan,” he concluded. Finally, the President of the Senate illustrated some moments of the meeting with the Pontiff. “With Pope Leo XIV I discussed the cooperation between the Catholic Church and Kazakhstan,” he said, adding that Kazakhstan attaches great importance to interreligious dialogue. “Today we also discussed our future cooperation,” said the President of the Kazakh Senate.
