MELBOURNE (AUSTRALIA) (ITALPRESS) – The Australian Grand Prix officially kicks off the Formula 1 2026 World Championship, a season destined to mark an epochal breakthrough in the history of the category. The new technical regulations – which introduce radical changes to power unit, aerodynamics, chassis and energy management – represent the largest revolution in recent decades, redesigning the very concept of single-seater. Pre-season tests have had a precise objective: understanding, validating and optimizing. The reconnaissance collected is a solid starting point, but it will be the inaugural race to provide the first real competitive references as confirmed by the main team, Fred Vasseur. “The tests in Bahrain have allowed us to complete a good number of kilometers and collect valuable data to improve our understanding of the SF-26 – he says – we have worked methodically on different key areas and collected many useful information. The test conditions are never fully representative and Melbourne will be the first chance to assess our competitiveness compared to the opponents. As always at the beginning of the season, there are many unknowns: we will face the weekend with concentration and humility”.
