ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The ten-day truce between Israel and Lebanon begins. To announce it was president of the United States Donald Trump. To confirm it Hezbollah with two communications with which the group has “earned” of the ceasefire, although he has not specified if he accepts the truce for the entire period, reasserting that his actions will be based “on the evolution of the situation”.
In Beirut shoots in the air celebrated the entry into force of the ceasefire. According to the US Department of State, Israel will maintain the right to “adopt measures to self-defense”, but will not lead “offensive operations” against Lebanese goals by land, air or sea. The Lebanese army, however, denounced some Israeli attacks on the night, despite the truce.

The Lebanese army launched a new appeal to citizens so that they do not return precipitously to the villages and places of the south of the country, despite the entry into force of the ceasefire with Israel at local midnight (21:00 GMT). In a communiqué on the night, the Lebanese Armed Forces reported Israeli “numerous violations” from the beginning of the truce, including intermittent bombings that affected several southern locations. The command invited the population to “use maximum caution” and delay the return until the situation is stabilized. Already in yesterday’s day, before the entry into force of the truce, the army had spread a similar warning: “In view of the news circulated on a possible ceasefire agreement, we invite citizens not to rush back to the southern areas until the actual implementation of the agreement, and not to approach the areas where Israeli forces have infiltrated.”.
