ROME (ITALPRESS) – The Italy of olive oil and olives in ten thousand square meters. In its new solo role, after 28 editions in coexistence with Vinitaly, Sol2Expo debuts with a doubling of the exhibition area, moving from one marquee to two full pavilions: an important result that denotes the centrality and interest in a product that is a symbol of Made in Italy. This is the 2025 edition of Sol2Expo – Full Olive Experience, the exhibition scheduled at Veronafiere from Sunday, March 2 to Tuesday, March 4, presented today at the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry in the presence of the minister, Francesco Lollobrigida, and the undersecretary, Patrizio La Pietra. “It comes out of Vinitaly and makes itself autonomous, creates a mechanism to promote a great product, tells it in all its dynamics, which creates value with respect to the product and also possibility to distribute this value within the supply chain. It will be an extraordinary event with oil as the protagonist and with our Ministry not backing down from any action that can grow our economy and support those supply chains that bring well-being,” Lollobrigida said. For the president of Veronafiere, Federico Bricolo, “it will be a representative exhibition not only of the entire olive and oil supply chain, but also of all the Italian producing regions, with a massive and widespread presence of the Associations and protagonists of the sector. Global olive oil consumption has exceeded 3 million tons, expanding the consumer base to emerging markets in South America and Asia. At the same time, Italy is experiencing a difficult production season, tested by climate change. For this reason,” he continued, “we have strengthened the sector’s analysis activities with two new tools: the new Sol2Expo Observatory to monitor the market and consumption, carried out in collaboration with Nomisma and, in the near future, with other institutional and non-institutional partners, and the newly created Technical-Scientific Committee, for scientific oversight on research, innovation and hot topics in the sector. Italia Olivicola together with the Italian Association of Oil Millers – Aifo; Filiera Olivicola Olearia Italiana – Fooi-Interprofessione; Unapol; Unaprol together with the friend association Frantoi Oleari Associati – FOA Italia and Fondazione Evoo School are the acronyms present at the fair, joined by all the production regions, represented by collectives or individual companies. On the foreign front, the presence of companies from Albania, Spain, Tunisia and, for technologies, Germany are already confirmed. For Veronafiere’s general director, Adolfo Rebughini, “already from this start-up edition, Sol2Expo offers a complete overview of the world of olives and oil, starting from the business to the end consumer. It ranges from the product to the by-product, passing through technology, training and tourism, with the aim of guaranteeing operators and visitors a highly experiential fair, as well as an exceptional showcase for Italian olive-growing excellence. On the promotion front, we have worked with our delegates and Ice-Agency to incoming top-buyer specialists, with operators from 27 countries.” With focuses ranging from virgin and extra virgin olive oil to by-products, from specialty seed oils to nutritional oils to wellness products, oil-based cosmetics and technology, Sol2Expo 2025 is also relaunching the Evoo Days educational program (March 3-4), with in-depth discussions on topical technical-scientific and market issues, while insights on technological innovation and cosmetics will be curated by Aipo, the Interregional Olive Producers Association. Also announced are the members of Sol2Expo’s new Scientific Technical Committee, which, for the first time, will entrust an international team of experts with the direction and coordination of content and technical training within the event. It will be the Committee’s task to preside over and validate the content of talk shows and seminars within the framework of the EvoDays, the format dedicated precisely to the training of olive and oil operators and producers.
