Australian Open, five Italian series heads: the full male and female list

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Five blues, four in the male tournament and one in the female, will be standard heads at the Australian Open 2026 in singular. The list includes Jannik Sinner (2), Lorenzo Musetti (5), Flavio Cobolli (20) and Luciano Darderi (22). In female singular the only blue head of the series is Jasmine Paolini (7).

In the men’s tournament, the number 1 of the world and the board is the Spanish Carlos Alcaraz who could collide in the final with Jannik Sinner: would be their fourth consecutive comparison in a Slam final, the first at the Australian Open. Alexander Zverev is the third series head, while the 10-time Novak Djokovic champion begins his 21st Australian Open as number 4 of the board. Alex de Minaur, number 6 of seeding, is the Australian with the highest standard head in male singular at the Australian Open in the last 20 years. Daniil Medvedev, US champion Open 2021 and three times finalist at the Australian Open, which began on 2026 with the title won in Brisbane, is the only Slam champion not included among the first four series heads in single male

In the women’s tournament number 1 of the world Aryna Sabalenka, Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff are the first three series heads for the second consecutive year. Madison Keys, who last year canceled a match point and surprised Swiatek in the semifinals, then beat in the final the double-time champion Sabalenka, returns as a serial number 9 head. The defending champion, who won his first title Slam 12 months ago, is one of four American tennis players in the top 10 series. Among the top 32 of the board we find six other players with at least one major at the active: Elena Rybakina (5), Naomi Osaka (16), Jelena Ostapenko (24), Sofia Kenin (27), Emma Raducanu (28) and Marketa Vondrousova (32).
