MILANO (ITALPRESS) – A few weeks from its beginning, the 2026 edition of the Elegance Competition in Villa d’Este will be presented today at the doors of Milan at the House of BMW Italia, which will be held in the location on Lake Como from 15 to 17 May. Approximately 50 of the most spectacular cars of their time will compete for trophies in the following competition classes. Among these stands the “Trofeo BMW Group – Best of Show”, with which a high-profile jury will designate the absolute winner of the Elegance Competition. For the automotive brand, the partnership with the Villa d’Este competition has become a long-term tradition. “It is a project that was born together and is part of our DNA: we arrived at the 21st year, always in the name of elegance. We look at the past and celebrate successful cars, but we never give up looking to the future and looking for in Villa d’Este the values of a platform that knows how to dialogue and fascinate the new generations. So we put together tradition and innovation, moving the asticella every year to a higher level”, said Massimiliano Di Silvestre, Chairman and CEO BMW Italia. The parade of the Elegance Competition on the terrace of the luxury hotel Villa d’Este will be held on Saturday. In addition to the main prize, the “Trofeo BMW Group – Best of Show”, all participants will compete with their own cars for victories in their respective classes, for the public award “Coppa d’Oro”, awarded by Villa d’Este, and for many other awards, including the “Trofeo del Presidente”, which will be awarded by Helmut Kàs, Head of BMW Group Classic and President of the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Eleganza. Also this year, BMW Motorrad will launch the Villa d’Este Elegance Competition a concept designed to define new standards in terms of exclusive performance and modern design. As De Silvestre recalled “at the basis of the concept of this event lies the desire to find the balance between technology and the human factor: not only do machines count, people count, between digital avant-garde and physical presence”. For the joy of the many fans there will be many drivers including Roberto Ravaglia, European champion 1986 and world 1987 with BMW. Ambassador of the 2026 edition will be the actor Pierfrancesco Favino. This year’s edition creates metaphorically speaking a bridge between past and future. Starting with the cars shown today at the press during the conference, and all have left a mark in the history of the brand: the BMW E30 (M3) that celebrates 40 years of history, the BMW 635 CSI (50 years of history) and the BMW 2002 Cabrio Bauer (60 years of history). But in Villa d’Este the special guest will be the Alpina brand. As mentioned by Di Silvestre is a vehicle “completely distinguished within the BMW portfolio (distinct by M and Rolls-Royce). It will be the luxury car brand with a high level of craftsmanship, high performance but fluid, differentiating from the very sports performance of the M brand and especially with a limited production. The Alpina brand will make its debut with a concept that will surprise visitors.” “We are proud to create an atmosphere where excellence is born naturally, where history continues to inspire innovation and where each guest becomes part of a truly timeless and extraordinary experience. All this is made possible by the commitment and dedication of the team of Villa d’Este, in close synergy with the BMW team, as well as meticulous care for every detail, which makes this event really memorable. More than a tribute to an illustrious tradition, it represents one of the most prestigious and longevous competitions in the world: a lively celebration of craftsmanship, passion and cultural heritage”, said Davide Bertilaccio, CEO Villa d’Este S.p.A.
