ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The situation of the enterprises affected by bad weather and the measures to support the recovery were at the center of a meeting in videocall between the Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, and the president of the Sicilian Region, Renato Schifani. At the heart of the confrontation, the damage caused by the extraordinary wave of bad weather that hit the ion coast of the island after the passage of the cyclone Harry, the situation of the landmine still active in Niscemi and the interventions currently supporting the government’s study of the productive system. “We are working to identify concrete tools that do not limit themselves to the restores, but which will restore development opportunities to these territories, supporting investments and new productive settlements,” said Minister Urso. In the course of the videocall, Minister Urso explained to President Schifani some hypotheses to the Mimit’s vaglio to support emergency interventions and support the resumption of the productive fabric, also favoring new investments. Among these, the strengthening of access to credit through the Guarantee Fund for SMEs, also in support of the moratorium of funding in the affected areas, and the extension of the benefits provided by law 181/1989 for the crisis areas affected by bad weather – on the basis of what is done at the time of the flood in Emilia-Romagna – while at the same time enhancing the resources already foreseen in the scope of the measure for the complex crisis area of Gela.

“The priority of the Region is to be alongside the affected enterprises and workers, ensuring quick and effective answers.
