Bagnaia falls, Martin wins Sprint and stretches in standings

SEPANG (MALAYSIA) (ITALPRESS) – Pecco Bagnaia crashes, is forced to retire and sees the World Championship recede. Jorge Martin (Ducati Prima Pramac), on the other hand, now has the title within reach. That was the outcome of the Sprint Race of the MotoGP Malaysian GP, a race won by Martin, who preceded compatriot Marc Marquez (Ducati Gresini) and Enea Bastianini (Ducati). Fourth place for Alex Marquez (Ducati Gresini), fifth Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha). Sixth place for Franco Morbidelli (Ducati Prima PRamac), seventh Brad Binder (Ktm), eighth Jack Miller (Ktm), ninth Pedro Acosta (Ktm) and tenth Marco Bezzecchi (Ducati VR46). A day to forget for Pecco Bagnaia who, after setting the track record by taking pole, slipped on the second lap and was forced to retire and is now 29 points behind Martin in the world title standings.
“It was a beautiful day, but it was a difficult race. I tried not to make mistakes and that’s the same thing I will try to do tomorrow in a Gp that will be very important. Now all my prayers, support and thoughts go to Valencia,” Martin’s words at the finish.
