Baretta gold and Iurlaro bronze at European U21 taekwondo championships

ROME (ITALPRESS) – Sarajevo is tinged with blue thanks to Dennis Baretta and Ludovico Iurlaro. Success for Italian taekwondo at the European Under 21 Championships 2024. Baretta was crowned European Champion in the -63 kg category, while Ludovico Iurlaro won the bronze medal, signing an Italian double in the same category.Baretta closed his run with a victory in the final against Poland’s Mateus Chrzanowski 2-0 (10-9 3-2), demonstrating solidity and control at every stage of the tournament. Among the most significant matches was the semifinal against Iurlaro, which was resolved in three intense rounds (27-14 23-16 27-4). In the previous rounds Baretta had overcome level-headed opponents from Greece, Ukraine and the Netherlands.Iurlaro, after making it through the qualifiers with incisive performances against athletes from Cyprus, Belarus and Bulgaria, reached the semifinals, where he stopped in front of Baretta.
