ROME (ITALPRESS) – Alessandro Benetton, Chairman of Edizione – interviewed by the weekly magazine Grazia where he appears photographed with his three children (Agnese, 24, Tobias, 21, Luce 17) at their home in Ponzano Veneto – announces the creation of a new Foundation where, in the scientific committee, will sit only under 30.The Foundation “was born from the desire to give young people certainties, including economic ones. No longer just isolated, philanthropic, generous acts, but structural actions on social inclusion, sustainability, third sector,” Benetton explained. Inspiring his always forward-looking gaze and the idea of the Foundation are his three children, Agnese, Tobias and Luce: “My priority is that they are happy. I try to always leave room for dialogue as equals, but without it confusing my role.” Benetton explains that with the Foundation “we start in 2025 with projects to be financed, at first in Italy but then also abroad, in the field of sports and education involving Edizione companies, from Mundys to Aeroporti di Roma. The goal is to have more restructured and digital schools, to promote merit through collaboration between Italian and foreign universities, allowing capable but resource-poor young people to study; to start cultural projects for competitions among young artists, who will exhibit their works in our airports,” the entrepreneur explains, recalling that Fiumicino airport already hosts the Innovation Hub startup accelerator where “the guys working there have come up with new camera systems, apps to streamline queues, services related to baggage. They have shown that you can intercept areas for improvement even in the most solid realities. “Responding to a question about his children’s decision to live with him after their separation, Alessandro Benetton explains, “It was a choice I respected. Being with them alone, in addition to realizing the hard work women do outside and inside the home, I realized how happy the boys are to share quality time. During the lockdown, we cooked, played games, played sports, talked about their problems and even relationship crises. This changed me profoundly. It made me more patient. “According to the entrepreneur, when you are the only parental figure at home, “the most effective system of education is by example, the one you pass on by living in front of them, working without transgressing certain moral rules. I advised them to always choose the future, keeping a good memory of the past. To discover one’s talents, to improve oneself as a person, one has to get out of the comfort zone because privileges have to be regained every time. Taking responsibility, even to fail, is a mature attitude, and I am happy that my children are also living their opportunities with this model,” concludes Benetton, who, with respect to the balance of boys between the U.S. and Treviso, says, “Treviso is a small city, a great place to start from and to return to.
