Beppe Convertini tells in a book Italy of small villages

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – A journey through Italy between stories, traditions and roots of small villages, life stories that we sometimes lose sight: a photograph of a little known country. Beppe Convertini, in his last book “The country of traditions”, tells how beautiful we have in Italy. “The book is a journey into the heart of our Italy, to discover everything that is beautiful. It is an act of love towards the most beautiful land in the world. Visiting and discovering it, I tell the stories of a laborious and authentic province; in this case, traditions. I gather the festivals, the infiorate, the patronal feasts, where Pro Loco volunteers do a great job to make these manifestations perfect,” Beppe Convertini said during the presentation of the book, in the press room of the House. “Italy is the most beautiful country in the world: we must be proud to be Italian. With this work I go to discover small centers, unique jewels, which carry on secular traditions. We have the most beautiful sea in the world and corners of rare beauty: it would take more lives to discover Italy”. The country of traditions is a diary of meetings and stories that crosses the most authentic Italy: that of the small villages, in which the rituals are handed down from generation to generation, the crafts of a time are preserved as treasures and the communities still cling around the identity symbols. From processions with large shoulder machines (intangible heritage of UNESCO) to celebrations that celebrate the products of the territory, from the ancient customs of the Carnival of Romeno in Val di Non until the spectacular ‘letcciata di Agnone, in Molise, Convertini listens, observes, collects and returns a living fresco of the country that resists. Antonino La Spina, president of the Pro Loco National Union of Italy, accompanied the author on this itinerary, along with the many volunteers who organize and animate the festivals, bringing enthusiasm, passion and joy in sharing. “ This book is a tribute to the small local realities and the many Pro Loco that operate in most of Italy, telling stories and traditions. Thanks to this work that Beppe wanted to dedicate to traditions, we tell Italy the most true: Italy of the small centers, of the ancient rites, that which represents a tourism linked to the local identity and that valorizes the villages” explained La Spina. “We have the opportunity to live authentic Italy through a travel book that makes us discover these locations.” Gimmi Cangiano, Member of Fratelli d’Italia, recalled that: “Beppe tells an authentic Italy, made of traditions, rites, community and identity. When we speak of tradition, it must not be something addressed to the past, but to the future. The Pro Loco are embassies of our territories and guardians of our traditions.” -photo f04/Italpress-(ITALPRESS).
