ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The Minister of the University and Research, Anna Maria Bernini, participated, on behalf of the Italian Government, at the official ceremony of settlement of the new President of the Republic of Chile, José Antonio Kast. “The Italian presence has witnessed the solidity of bilateral relations and the desire to further strengthen cooperation between Rome and Santiago in a phase of new political start for the South American country,” reads in a note from the Mur.
The minister had an informal meeting with the Minister of Science, Technology, Knowledge and Innovation of Chile, Ximena Gates-Lincolao, occasion for a first exchange of greetings and to confirm the common attention to the strengthening of scientific cooperation between the two countries. The mission in Chile of Minister Bernini also includes the visit of the European Southern Observatory (ESO) in the Atacama desert region, where the most advanced telescopes in the world arise. ESO is an international organization of which Italy has been a member since 1982.
